having located a “mint” ( in the words of the seller who was apparently overlooking the multiple cigarette burn holes that allowed me to negotiate the price down) set of 2011 Civic Si sedan seats, I intend to replace my TSX’s stock leather seats with some fabric.
S ome sort of emblem update will be called for if I succeed
they fit! in so far as I was able to jenga them into the vehicle to drive them home
so where we stand project wise: I have the seats, and the dog approves of them (or is just intrigued by their bad smell)
No one has to my knowledge and internet searching done this before, and there is no indication that they will even be close to bolting in. The format of the front seats is similar, two vertical mounts on the front, and two horizontal mounts on the rear. For the rears the design is similar in that it has a base is separate from the upright, the uprights split in the same manner, and there are two side bolsters that bolt in separ atel y. However, the TSX is Accord based, not Civic, desp ite them being similar sizes during this generation then internet (Acura TSX FB groups) feared the rear seats es pecially would not be the right width.
The rear seat sitting on top of the existing seat gives some good indication that things are at least going to be similar.
I do know that the seatbelt mounting for the driver’s side is different; the Civic’s seatbelt mounts to the seat, the TSX it mounts to the B-pillar. On the passenger side both mount to the seat.
I will be losing my seat heaters, although I could likely retrofit that in the future. The civic seats are also manual, so I lose the electric adjustment and the seat position memory feature.
But I do like a good mod, I prefer fabric over leather, and black with red stitching is a classic look.
Future Civic Si mods may include the transmission. The Civic Si 6-speed came with a factory LSD. Supposedly a common mod, as finding Civic transmissions is easier than TSX specific ones should the TSX one fail. But the internals of the Civic trans need to be swapped into the TSX’s trans’ case. Done before, so likely I’ll have some how-tos to follow at least.

The fabric is good! I lo ve this idea, but execution will be tricky. Cheaper than recovering the leather seats but much more difficult.

Curious to see how these look. I know a guy who knows a guy that did an interior swap from the CL7 R with the Recaro seats and all. I’m sure it wasn’t cheap but it looked damn good.

indeed, the EuroR available in Japan and Europe and Australia had somne very fine Recaro options that bolt in. but as you say they are $$$$
like, more than my Civic project is worth kinda $$$

indeed. I think mounting them will be the easy part.
Wiring the airbags and sensors and such so that I dont have warning lights will be the tricky part. I hate wiring.

TSXi is a really cool sounding acronym and a good looking badge. Excited to see these go in.

Make sure to check the final drive ratio on the Si before swapping the transmission. My SI is decent though kind of short ratio. It might not be as fun with a 2.4.

I prefer fabric also and they look well bolstered. But introducing stinky, burnt, “mint” seats into my beloved Honda is not my idea of a good time.

certainly not ideal, but the price was right. I still dont know if they will even fit or look good. So hoping this is a low investment and ruining a set of worse condition seats may make me feel worse if I fail :D
theres no cig smell, surprisingly, and I’ve cleaned a few seats to remove the smell before. so mostly the holes in two places are my issue. Might just keep my eye out for other seats to replace thos pieces if it all comes together.
